The Burning Islands

Each of the twelve islands that make up this archipelago have a volcano rising up out of them. In fact, these islands were made by the volcanoes erupting from their cores. The islands make for a great place to go if you like hot environments. Blazing hot steam hisses over the southern half of the islands where the lava is actively pouring into the cool ocean waters. The islands themselves are covered in cooling black lava fields. Though in some places on each island the lava flows continue to move slowly across the isle to the other side. Lava domes can be found everywhere if you look closely enough, and obsidian shines on the shores of each island like a new penny. On the very center island, which is the largest, the whole island is actually covered in cracks where the lava peeks out from under the cooled black crust. It is gorgeous to watch the flames and fiery dust fling out form the glowing cracks at night. Unfortunately because of the volatile nature of these islands thunder and lightning storms do occur frequently.
